The pay range is $85,500.00 - $153,900.00

The Role:
As a Senior Network Engineer, you’ll play a significant role in our data center network modernization efforts. You'll help maintain classic Cisco Nexus deployments while exploring new frontiers in networking, such as open-source software like SONiC. Your network automation skills, particularly using Python, will help us streamline operations and improve the overall efficiency of our infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

Design, deploy, and maintain enterprise data center networks using various network operating systems (NXOS, Cisco ACI, IOS-XR, SONiC & Cumulus,).

Develop, enhance, and maintain network automation tools in Python, driving an automation-first approach to our workflows.

Collaborate on building hybrid cloud network fabrics, incorporating open-source operating systems such as SONiC.

Lead efforts to modernize legacy systems and drive the adoption of next-generation networking models.
About you:

4-year degree or equivalent experience
-
5+ years of engineering experience
-
Demonstrates strong domain-specific knowledge regarding Target’s technology capabilities, and key competitors’ products and differentiating features

Solid understanding of traditional networking concepts (L2, L3, MLAG, VRFs) Routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, even EIGRP), and familiarity with overlay concepts (EVPN-VxLAN etc).

Extensive hands-on experience with Cisco Nexus (NXOS) in enterprise data centers.

Experience with Cisco ACI and IOS-XR is a plus.

Familiarity with or a strong desire to learn open-source switching software (SONiC, Cumulus).

Proven ability to develop network automation scripts or tools using Python.

Self-motivated with the ability to take initiative and deliver results with minimal supervision.

A collaborative, continuous-learning mindset, always looking for ways to improve processes and innovate.
This position will operate as a Hybrid/Flex for Your Day work arrangement based on Target’s needs. A Hybrid/Flex for Your Day work arrangement means the team member’s core role will need to be performed both onsite at the Target HQ MN location the role is assigned to and virtually, depending upon what your role, team and tasks require for that day.
