Overview
As a Data Engineer, you’ll join our Technology team, where your expertise will support data architecture, engineering, and integration efforts. You’ll work to enhance data systems and pipelines, optimize data collection, and implement best practices for data quality and security. This position involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure our data architecture supports ongoing business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain scalable data pipelines for data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) from various internal and external sources.
- Build and assemble complex data sets that meet both functional and non-functional business requirements.
- Collaborate with data engineers, analysts, and stakeholders to deliver actionable insights and optimize data delivery.
- Identify and implement process improvements, such as automating tasks and redesigning infrastructure to improve scalability.
- Conduct data quality analysis, maintain master data, and ensure data integrity and consistency across all data sources.
- Document data architecture, pipeline workflows, and create data models to facilitate effective data management.
- Work with stakeholders, including business, product, and technology teams, to support data infrastructure and troubleshoot data-related issues.
- Provide guidance to team members, sharing expertise on best practices in data engineering, data system creation, and data validation.
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in IT, Data Science, or related field; or equivalent experience.
- Proficiency in Python/Scala for data engineering and ETL processes.
- Strong expertise in Apache Spark for data transformations.
- Experience with Spark SQL and standard SQL (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL).
- Hands-on experience with at least one platform: Cloudera, Databricks, or Snowflake.
- Experience with data warehousing, cloud services (AWS, Azure), and analytical tools (e.g., Power BI).
- Skilled in data extraction, transformation, and preparation for analysis.
- Strong communication skills for effective collaboration across disciplines and with team members of varying technical backgrounds.
- Ability to manage multiple projects with competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
