Honda Racing Corporation USA, a leader in motorsports racing, is seeking a highly organized and detailed oriented Data Analytic Strategy Engineer II to join its Racing Program in Santa Clarita, CA.

Data Analytic Strategy Engineer II
The primary focus of the Data Analytics group is to support HRC’s engineering groups with developing processes to aid in the collection, storage and analysis of measurement and metadata from a variety of sources with the goal of supporting decisions by adding insight or improving the process.
This role will be working with members supporting race strategy in aspects of data collection, analysis toolchains, and simulations. This includes support and features of the existing simulation code and UI, integration with other software the strategy group uses, and workflows for analysis of data related to strategy. This role is to develop projects as defined by stake holders and senior engineers within the groups. As the tools will be in use during the weekend, supporting during this time and some traveling will be required
Qualifications include:
- BS Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science or other applicable field or 8 years of similar work experience.
- 4+ years of experience using mathematical or statistical methods to gain insight to data.
- 4+ years of experience in software development.
- Previous experience managing and storing data.
- 4+ years of experience with software used for data analysis and visualization (Python, MatLab, Power Bi/ Tableau)
- Experience solving loosely defined problems using software a must (Python or C# preferred)
- 3+ years of experience with API’s and web stack concepts.
- 3+ years of experience with cloud services (Azure, AWS, Google)
- 3+ years of experience software version control techniques.
- Understanding of relational data storage preferred.
- Strong PC and software knowledge including MS Office and MS Project.
- Previous technical report writing experience.
- Previous project management experience.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work in team environment.
- Ability to be self-directed, detailed oriented who can effectively work well under pressure in a diverse environment.
