The Shipping & Receiving Specialist supports the shipment of products and the receipt of materials and supplies to aid in production and storage. This role is essential for ensuring inventory accuracy, managing shipments efficiently, and contributing to smooth production processes.Responsibilities / TasksEssential Duties/Responsibilities:Manage the shipment and receipt of products, materials, and supplies.Pick, consolidate, transport, and stage materials for production processes.Ensure inventory accuracy and conduct cycle counts.Prepare and package equipment; load finished products onto truck-trailers for shipment.Maintain a clean work area and adhere to safety regulations.Operate forklifts and overhead cranes.Pick up, sort, and deliver interdepartmental mail, as well as Priority, FedEx, UPS, and USPS shipments.Transport parts and raw materials to and from suppliers.Receive and inspect incoming materials for defects.Unload and stock steel (plate, shape, and pre-cut beam).Stock parts and supplies in appropriate locations.Deliver and stock janitorial and office supplies.Retrieve and issue parts from bills of material (BOM) and the parts counter using the ERP system.Operate band saws and drill presses; cut steel and pipe to required lengths.Complete shipping and receiving paperwork.Pack and shrink-wrap parts as needed.Build boxes, crates, and skids using basic carpentry skills.Label and mark equipment/parts for shipment.Rig machinery for loading/unloading using appropriate equipment.Assist with inventory maintenance and perform cycle count activities.Follow Quality Assurance procedures.Train Level I and II Shipping/Receiving employees.Perform other duties as assigned.Your Profile / QualificationsRequired Skills/Abilities:Willingness to learn and collaborate.Strong attention to detail.Commitment to quality and safety standards.Ability to sit, walk, or stand for extended periods.Must be able to lift/carry 50 lbs. frequently.Proficient in using a computer keyboard.Availability for extended hours, including weekends and holidays as needed.Regular exposure to manufacturing environments that may require personal protective equipment and involve varied conditions (hot, cold, dirty, greasy, wet, noisy).Education and Experience:High school diploma or equivalent.5-8+ years of warehouse or shipping/receiving experience, or proficiency at Shipping & Receiving Level I and II.Valid driver's license and tow motor operation capability.Semi-skilled with the ability to operate basic and moderately complex equipment under established routines.Benefits of Working at GEA Group:11 Paid HolidaysPTO (Paid Time Off)Comprehensive Medical, Dental, and Vision InsuranceHealth Savings and Spending AccountsTuition Reimbursement401k with employer matchWellness Incentive ProgramEmployee Assistance Program#engineeringforabetterworldGEA Group is committed to fostering an inclusive work environment.
