The Lead Data Engineer will act as the technical lead for a data product team focused on a specific data domain. In this role, they will be responsible for ensuring the data products built by the team are supported by resilient, monitored, production-grade pipelines and incorporated into Purina’s enterprise data model to deliver value to the business. Through collaboration with other data engineers across Purina’s data team, they will drive adoption of engineering best practices to further the maturity of Purina’s data engineering capability.
- Serve as the technical lead for a data product team focused on a specific data domain
- Develop, test, deploy, and maintain data pipelines to move, transform, and harmonize source data into data products ready for consumption by end users, applications, and other data product teams
- Ensure adherence to Purina’s data engineering and architectural standards
- Monitor performance of data pipelines developed and owned within the assigned data domain
- Champion the adoption of best practices within the data engineering guild
- Coach and mentor other data engineers
- Collaborate with other engineers and architects to mature the data enterprise data platform
- Collaborate with product owners and business stakeholders to develop long-term data product roadmaps
- Collaborate with stakeholders and data product team to define data product requirements
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
- 7+ years of professional experience with 5+ of those years in practical, hands-on data engineering
- 4+ years of experience in Azure ecosystem
- 4+ years of experience with Databricks and Python/PySpark
The approximate pay range for this position is $116,000.00 to $168,000.00. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to knowledge, skills and abilities as well as geographic location.
