Position Summary:
The Data Analytics Engineer will be an integral part of our dynamic Data & Analytics team. This role focuses on building and enhancing analytical capabilities to integrate AI and ML into various projects and priorities driven by the Data Analytics team. These initiatives broadly support our lines of business across both CardWorks and Merrick Bank. We are looking for individuals who have specific knowledge and experience with AI and ML solutions, can work with data, perform data visualization, build, deploy, and maintain ML models, and have strong proficiency in Python.
Essential functions:
- Design, Implement and report actionable intelligence using data from internal and external sources for leadership across the organization.
- Identify and interpret trends in datasets to drive insights using a variety powerful cloud-based technologies, including AWS, Snowflake, & Power BI.
- Assist in implementing auditable data controls while adhering to critical data governance guidelines.
- Collaborate with business, operations and data engineers to understand business problems and translate them into technical specifications for AI and ML solutions.
- Design, develop, and test AI and ML models using various programming languages and frameworks, such as Python and TensorFlow.
- Integrate ML models into production systems using MLOps practices and cloud platforms.
- Monitor and evaluate the performance of ML models, identifying and addressing potential issues.
- Document AI and ML solutions, including model descriptions, code, and deployment procedures.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in AI and ML technologies.
Education & experience:
- Master’s degree in Data Science, specialized Computer Science or related degree.
- Strong understanding of AI and ML concepts, including machine learning algorithms, model evaluation, and model deployment.
- 4+ years of experience in programming with Python, C# or other relevant languages.
- Hands-on software development experiences
- UI development experiences with HTML, CSS, JavaScript is a plus.
- Relational database concept and experiences in SQL is a plus.
- Experience with cloud platforms, such as AWS or Azure, is a plus.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
