Main function of the job: -
The main duty is to provide engineering and design assistance for corrosion control and monitoring systems projects as well as provide technical assistance to plant operations personnel regarding selection and use of corrosion inhibitors, biocides and corrosion data management for prevention and control of corrosion of plant equipments in the oil and gas industries.
Duties & Responsibilities: -
- Provide engineering support and guidance to all phases of the new oil and gas fields projects including engineering, design, construction, commissioning and operation.
- Provides guidelines on the selection the appropriate materials, coatings and inhibitors to protect against corrosion for oil and gas processing plant and pipelines.
- Provide technical support related to internal corrosion monitoring includes scale inhibitor, biocides, internal corrosion coupons/ probes and corrosion sampling analysis.
- Ensuring inhibitors are compliance with industry standards and environmental regulations regarding corrosion control measures.
- Prepare a routine work program for monitoring corrosion and chemical inhibitors injection in the plant facilities.
- Prepare test protocols for selection and evaluation of corrosion inhibitors performance.
- Provide internal corrosion assessments, corrosion mitigation, corrosion monitoring and corrosion management activities.
- Provide professional guidance and support to operations team to ensure safe operating on the full life cycle of all fixed plant equipment.
- Participate in root cause failure analysis to identify corrosion mechanisms and establish inspection programs to monitor those mechanism.
- Study plant equipment's inspection reports and issue recommendations.
- Monitor corrosion rate, inhibitor consumption and chemical injection in plant facilities.
- Provide consultation on specialized area related to corrosion control, provide training and guidance to the junior Corrosion engineers.
- Provide authoritative technical assessment and interpretation of corrosion inspection monitoring data.
- Prepare procedures to prevent corrosion on industrial plant equipments or infrastructure projects to keep the facility safe to operate and to prevent the pipelines from being corroded or leaking.
- Provide technical support related to atmosphere corrosion and CUI monitoring and mitigation procedures.
- Provide assistance related to cleaning pigging programs pigging frequency and pigging types.
- Prepare periodic reports on corrosion systems status, technical problems and maintain records.
- Qualifications & Experience: -
- Education: - B.Sc. Degree in corrosion or chemical engineering.
- Experience: - Minimum 15 years in corrosion prevention, chemicals and inhibitors in processing plant and pipelines in oil and gas industry.
- NACE certification and fully familiar with corrosion engineering softwares, plant safety requirements and engineering standards such as NACE, API, .. etc.
- Excellent interpersonal, projects management and technical analysis skills.
- Excellent English written and verbal communication skills.
- Computer skills MS office.
Summary of Terms & Conditions:
• Work Cycle of 56/21 including Travel Days for American, Eastern and Western Europe, others 65/21 , including Travel Days
