Role:
Delmock Technologies, Inc. is seeking a skilled Data Engineer to join a collaborative team in support of the Department of Treasury, focused on data discovery and curation. The position involves working with a legacy system hosted in a mainframe environment, while offering opportunities to apply modern data techniques to create added value.
Responsibilities:
Works on data discovery tasks and curate datasets for effective analysis and model training.
Utilizes IBM DB2 Query Management Facility (QMF) and related tools, to manage and optimize database systems.
Assists in preparing data sets for machine learning applications, ensuring data is well-curated for model training.
Leverages SQL skills for writing and tuning queries, ensuring efficient data retrieval and performance.
Works within an agile team, using cloud-based platforms to enhance data capabilities and solutions.
Utilizes business intelligence tools and data visualization techniques to support decision-making processes.
Ensures compliance with relevant data management regulations, maintaining data privacy and security.
Minimum Requirements:
Education:
Experience:
Experience with IBM DB2 QMF: Familiarity with IBM DB2 Query Management Facility and associated tools.
Ten (10) years of working knowledge in database design and theories.
Five (5) years of experience working with data science methodologies to support data analysis and modeling.
Five (5) years of experience curating data sets specifically for machine learning and model training.
Five (5) years of experience in writing SQL queries, with a strong understanding of query tuning best practices.
Five (5) years of experience working in agile environments and with cloud-based platforms.
Understanding of regulatory requirements relevant to data management, including privacy laws and industry standards.
Proficiency in BI tools and visualization techniques to communicate data insights effectively.
Familiarity with Pentaho for data integration, analytics, and reporting.
