Job Description:
The US Army Combat Capability Development Command (DEVCOM) Aviation and Missile Center (AvMC) Aircraft Maintenance Engineering Division of the Systems Readiness Directorate is looking for an Aerospace Engineer. The selected applicant will be responsible for airworthiness determination of repairs, testing requirements, and damage evaluation on pneumatic, electrical, hydraulic, fuel, dynamic system, mechanical, airframe or propulsion systems installed on U.S. Army rotorcraft. This will be in direct support of the Corpus Christ Army Depot, commercial maintenance and overhaul facilities, and field support locations. This is a rewarding position with great impact to Army readiness and aircrew safety.
DEVCOM AvMC as a Science and Technology Reinvention Laboratory (STRL) is utilizing the Direct Hire Authority (DHA) to fill this position(s).

Duties:
Maintenance Engineering: Work involves the design, overhaul, repair, operation and age monitoring of aerospace vehicles, components, systems, and support equipment that are primarily in the postproduction stage. Some work may involve providing advice or input during the development stages (such as maintainability review of design proposals). The primary purpose of maintenance engineering is to ensure assigned aerospace vehicle systems, components, parts or support equipment are safe, reliable, maintainable and operational. Work performed may include development, verification, review and update of technical and maintenance publications (TBs, TMs, DMWRs, etc.) as well as support of these publications with field messages and one-time repair authorizations. Duties may require maintenance, conduct analysis to enhance preventive maintenance programs, evaluate system safety and reliability using operational data, and provide technical advice to field, depot or other maintenance activities. The work may involve resolving conflicts or problems that require considerable planning, coordination, and analysis because of the nature, scope, impact, and complexity of the issues. Some maintenance engineering work will involve developing new repair methods and techniques that are beyond conventional practice.
