As a proud part of the ACP CreativIT family of technology solutions providers, NetTel Communications is seeking a full-time Datacom Technician/Field Engineer to join our Chippewa Valley-based team. In this role, you will help design, install, and support local organizations with the communications technology they need to be successful.

What Will You Do?

Design, installation, configuration and support of A/V equipment, Wireless Access Points, IP Surveillance Cameras, VMS/NVR’s, and access control systems

Design and installation of communications pathways (cable trays, cable racks, sleeves, J hooks or D-rings)

Professional installation, termination, and testing of low voltage copper & fiber optic cables (including twisted pair cable, power limited tray cable, standard & solid conductor low voltage cable, single mode & multi-mode fiber optic cables).

MDF/IDF build-outs, dress and route cable into closets/racks, modular furniture, and other work areas

Advanced optimization and troubleshooting, including coordination with technical support resources from the top vendors in our industry

Read and interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, and blueprints

Redline prints, wiring diagrams, schematics, and blueprints for as-builts

Documentation of installation and service notes in customer configuration records • Educate and train customers on system operation and functionality

Communicate daily with Project Manager on delays, requirements, and general status of jobs

Collaborate with Sales and Estimation, and Project Managers on change orders, compliant startup, and complete closeout/turnover of jobs to the customer

Manage individual truck stock inventory, materials, tools, and company equipment

What skills and experience are we looking for?

Computer/Networking experience including TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, LAN, VLAN, WAN and basic VoIP concepts

Experience with network appliances such as routers and managed switches

Experience working in MDF/IDF environments

At least 2 years' experience working with various cables that include, but are not limited to: Category 5, Category 6, multiconductor door access cables, single and multi-mode fiber optic cables

Experience installing j-hooks, ladder racks, racks and cable trays

Experience using a 4-pair tester, as well as fiber optic OTDR tester

Fiber termination, fusion splicing, and patch panel experience

Basic understanding of the EIA/TIA, BICSI, NEC Industry Standards

Experience installing various A/V equipment

Experience installing door access hardware (strike, contacts, card reader, rex)

Experience installing/landing door access cabling at panel

Experience using power tools appropriately and safely identifying the appropriate tools for a job is required.

Climb ladders; Lift 50 pounds on a regular basis

Ability to read blueprints

Ability to work independently, as well as with a team

Strong customer service skills

Certifications: CompTIA, Cisco, BICSI, Microsoft

Experience w/ any of the following hardware/categories: Axis, Hanwha Techwin, Panasonic, Milestone, 3XLogic, ICT, Aruba, Cisco

Schedule: Monday-Thursday, 7:00 am-5:30 pm. Typically enjoy Fridays off.

Pay: From $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: No more than 45 per week
