Overview:

Two Barrels is hiring a Network Data Center Engineer at our facility in Johnston, IA. You will be a traditional company employee. This is a full time 40 hour/week position with company benefits. This position is coded as “Office-Only” which means all work must be performed in our Johnston, IA facility.

Responsibilities:

Be a good human
Provide technical support for network-related issues, troubleshoot problems, and implement solutions promptly
Collaborate with other IT teams, including system administrators, developers, and security professionals, to ensure cohesive and integrated IT infrastructure
Conduct capacity planning to ensure that the data center network can support current and future organizational needs
Plan and execute network upgrades, including hardware and software updates, in coordination with the organization's change management processes
Monitor network performance and proactively identify and address issues to ensure optimal performance
Implement performance optimization strategies and recommend upgrades as necessary
Implement and maintain security measures to protect data center networks from unauthorized access and cyber threats
Design, plan, and implement data center network architecture to meet the organization's requirements
Work on the development and implementation of scalable and high-performance network solutions
Deploy and configure networking hardware, including routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers within the data center environment
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of network components

Minimum Qualifications:

3+ years of proven experience in a Network Engineer or similar type of role with a focus on data center environments
BGP experience
Experience with firewalls and security appliances
Strong understanding of data center architecture and design principles
Experience with network monitoring and management tools
Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Strong communication and collaboration skills
In-depth knowledge of networking protocols, technologies, and security best practices
Experience in vendor management
Experience with scripting and automation of network devices

Preferred Qualifications:

Extensive experience with data center switching with brocade, fs, juniper and cisco
Familiarity with software-defined networking (SDN) and network virtualization technologies
Experience in a quickly growing environment
