Overview
As an Ecommerce Data Engineer, you will play a key role in setting up controls and systems for accurately managing data flowing between systems for our ecommerce platforms. Leveraging tools such as RudderStack, Snowflake, Power BI, DAX, etc. Your expertise and knowledge will provide analytics and reports utilized by the entire company to refine their strategies and increase revenue. Successful candidates will be highly self-directed, excellent problem-solvers and be able to work with all levels of the organization. Attention to detail, a strong work ethic, and excellent communication skills are required. This role is hands-on and requires both technical depth and strong capabilities to understand business concepts. Candidates should have exceptional functional and technical skills in master data implementations, data engineering, data stewardship, and application integration.

Key Responsibilities

Setup and maintain a Customer Data Platform (CDP):
- Using RudderStack, design and maintain sources, transformations, and destinations in the CDP.
- Monitor to make sure all data coming from sources is accurate and complete.
- Work with the development team to make sure pixels are properly placed on all required sites and pages.
- Monitor and optimize usage patterns to prevent overage charges.
- Setup and main event date store:
- Using Snowflake, make sure all data coming from RudderStack is accurate and in proper databases
- Utilize DAX to create queries and dynamic tables that can be used to interface with Power BI
- Work with marketing to make sure the proper data is being stored and made available to Power BI so that they can better optimize and forecast their efforts
- Main event data in Power BI:
- Setup and maintain Power BI dataflows and semantic models to be accessed by marketing
- Utilize DAX and Power Query to create tables and columns that are required by marketing to see the data they need
Qualifications:

Experience with CDPs (eg. RudderStack)
- Experience with data lakes/warehouses (eg. Snowflake)
- Experience with data visualization systems (eg. Power BI)
- Knowledge of DAX and/or Power Query
- Knowledge of pixels and how they work
- Familiarity with e-commerce and digital marketing platforms (e.g., Shopify, Meta Ads, Google Ads, TikTok Ads).
- Strong communication skills to present insights clearly to marketing stakeholders.
- Proactive and self-motivated approach to problem-solving.
- High attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
- Collaborative mindset to work seamlessly with marketing, media buyers, and creative teams.
