Job Description
Kayne Anderson Rudnick Investment Management, located in Century City, is looking for a dedicated and highly motivated early career individual with strong initiative and exceptional communication skills to fill the position of Data Engineer. The data engineer analyzes, assesses, plans, codes, tests, and coordinates activities related to the further development of data and analytics for the firm’s operations, market, and investment data. This role will apply statistical theory and methods to collect, interpret, and summarize data as well as make predictions and provide insights related to the data.
Job Responsibilities:

Working with stakeholders to understand their functional needs and design responsive solutions.

Help stage product and relationship data to improve operational, investment, or client related insights based on generation of key performance metrics.

Process complex data sets and help lead improvements to internal processing, automation of manual processes, and redesigning architecture for greater scalability.

Coordinate with members of the technology team to better understand and assist their core functions.

Help improve dev/ops capabilities with respect to business intelligence and data science development.

Work with a range of cross-functional personnel at all levels of the firm including the executive level.

Work with internal and external data and analytics experts to maximize the effectiveness of our data systems.
Ideal Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering or equivalent with 0-2 years of experience including internships within the financial services industry.

Experience in implementing reusable, stable software design and development methods that provide high-value, high-quality products with a short time to implementation.

Relevant experience developing with Python, C#, SQL or related object-oriented languages.

Experience building and optimizing data pipelines, architectures, and data sets.

Ability to perform root cause analysis on data and processes to identify improvement opportunities.

Project management and organizational skills.

Experience with Spark, Hadoop, Kafka, etc. a plus.

Experience with data pipeline tools a plus: Data Factory, SSIS, Luigi, Azkaban, Airflow, etc.
The starting salary range is $85,000 to $113,000.
The starting salary offer will vary based on the applicant’s education, experience, skills, abilities, geographic location, internal equity, and alignment with market data. This position is also eligible to participate in a company incentive plan.
