Summary/Objective
With a large portfolio of active projects across 9 major market sectors throughout Illinois and the surrounding states, Connelly Electric is the leading design build & plan/spec electrical contractor in the Chicagoland area. Connelly Electric is seeking a professional who is confident, self-motivated, and passionate about what they do. The primary function of this role is to provide support to the Safety Department and specific projects. This individual will report to the Director of Operations. The Safety Engineer will be able to coordinate meetings, handle reporting and document safety observations.
Essential Duties
- Visit job sites and monitor the work environment
- Develop site specific safety programs
- Assist in conducting safety orientations
- Document all incidents, safety violations, and unsafe conditions/activities
- Identify, report, and assist in resolution of safety violations, unsafe behaviors, and non-compliant conditions
- Liaise with project lead and other project managers to maintain project safety standards
- Safety documentation management as required
- Program and document development as required
- Work with field supervision on site specific training
- Additional assignments per Director of Operation’s direction
Qualifications
- Four-year Occupational Safety degree or degree in a related field. The equivalent combined education and field experience will also be considered
- Interest in obtaining BCSP designation (CHST, ASP, CSP).
- Interest in electrical systems and equipment
- Strong organization, communication and prioritization skills
- Self-starter with the ability to schedule and efficiently support teams
- Ability to assume responsibility and interface well with project team.
- Computer and technology skills with emphasis on mobility (preferably Apple iOS).
- Technical writing skills
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
- Customer and team orientated
- Problem solving ability
- Ability to drive in and around Chicago and its suburbs
Job Types: Full-time, Internship
Pay: $60,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
