Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Accident Reconstruction Expert to join our team. This role involves analyzing and reconstructing vehicle accidents to determine the cause and contributing factors. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in mechanical knowledge, engineering principles, and accident analysis techniques. You will work closely with legal teams, insurance companies, and law enforcement to provide expert testimony and detailed reports based on your findings.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough investigations of accident scenes to gather evidence and data.
- Utilize mechanical knowledge to analyze vehicle dynamics and performance.
- Employ Finite Element Analysis ok(FEA) to simulate accident scenarios.
- Interpret Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) standards in relation to vehicle components.
- Design and fabricate prototypes or models as needed for demonstration purposes.
- Perform root cause analysis to identify factors leading to accidents.
- Utilize Arduino for data collection and analysis during investigations.
- Develop project schedules to manage timelines for investigations and reporting.
- Create detailed schematics of vehicle systems involved in accidents.
- Use LabView for data acquisition and analysis as part of the reconstruction process.
- Prepare comprehensive reports summarizing findings and present them in court as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Forensic Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
- Proven experience in accident reconstruction or a similar field is highly desirable.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to apply engineering principles effectively.
- Familiarity with FEA software tools for simulation purposes.
- Proficient understanding of GD&T principles.
- Experience in mechanical design and fabrication techniques.
- Demonstrated ability in root cause analysis methodologies.
- Knowledge of Arduino programming for data collection applications is a plus.
- Excellent project scheduling skills with the ability to manage multiple investigations simultaneously.
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail, capable of interpreting complex data sets.
- Effective communication skills for presenting findings clearly to diverse audiences.
