About the role
Techno is seeking a detail-orientedOffice Engineer to join our project team in New York City. This role is dedicated to supporting infrastructure projects with a focus on sidewalks, pedestrian ramps, and ADA compliance. The ideal candidate will assist in project documentation, ensure adherence to accessibility standards, and facilitate smooth project execution through technical and administrative support.
What you'll do

Coordinate project documentation, including plans, specifications, and reports, to ensure compliance with ADA and pedestrian accessibility requirements.

Support project meetings, maintain meeting minutes, and coordinate efforts among stakeholders, including architects, surveyors, contractors, and city agencies.

Monitor contractor work progress related to sidewalk and pedestrian ramp installations, ensuring alignment with approved construction schedules.

Review and track contractor’s payment requests, project budgets, and cost estimates.

Assist in the preparation of change orders, independent cost estimates (ICE), and contract modifications.

Ensure all construction activities comply with local, state, and federal ADA regulations and accessibility guidelines.

Maintain project records, correspondence, and reports, ensuring proper documentation and organization.

Support quality assurance and compliance efforts related to pedestrian infrastructure improvements.
Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in Business, Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture or a closely related field.

A minimum of 5 years of experience as an Office Engineer, preferably with projects involving sidewalks, pedestrian ramps, and ADA compliance.

Familiarity with NYC infrastructure projects, particularly in pedestrian and accessibility improvements.

Knowledge of NYCDDC, NYC DOT, and ADA standards is highly preferred.

Strong organizational and communication skills with attention to detail.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint), SharePoint, and eBuilder.

The expected salary range for this role in the New York City Metropolitan Area is {$100,000 - $156,000} per year. The total compensation, including salary and bonuses, is determined by various factors such as experience, skill level, location, and qualifications, which are evaluated during the interview process
