As a Spaceflight Test Engineer, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining an integrated systems approach to the test and evaluation of products across their lifecycle from design, development, qualification, production, and delivery to the customer. You must bring a high-level, "big picture" thought process and understand how products should be tested from component to full system level to ensure design robustness and test efficiency. Description of Duties:

Provide subject matter expertise for the testing of aerospace hardware

Provide guidance to programs and projects regarding strategies for and execution of development, acceptance, and qualification test campaigns

Write test plans and procedures to support program milestones

Execute test procedures at both internal company facilities and external facilities

Generate formal test documentation such as technical memos and test reports

Present test results to internal and external customers.

Participate in the continuous improvement of the company's approach to testing

Interface with customers and suppliers to present technical and programmatic progress as well as challenges that must be overcome

Ideally lead a 2-5-person team and execute independent projects for larger programs while achieving technical scope on budget and on schedule, or ability to train and grow into this role

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Knowledge of, and skilled in, the development and execution of test plans and procedures as they relate to the development, acceptance, and qualification of aerospace hardware and systems

Ability to troubleshoot test setups and consider solutions in either the hardware or software domains
-
Laboratory experience with complex test setups, operations, data collection, and automation
-
Knowledge and experience with electromechanical hardware (e.g. valves, pumps, fans, subsystems, instrumentation, and sensors)

Knowledge and experience in the engineering product lifecycle, ranging from requirements development through design, manufacture, test, and operations

Ability to develop practical and tailored test solutions

Skill in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio, Project)

Ability to effectively communicate in both written and spoken form

Ability to establish and maintain effective, positive work relationships; have creativity, flexibility, and resourcefulness; have discriminating judgment, tact, and sense of humor

Ideally, but not required, knowledge of and skills in NASA human spaceflight hardware Life Cycle, Certification, and Engineering processes

Ideally, but not required, knowledge of and skills in LabVIEW programming
