Certification Expert within
Eni Natural Energies Cote d'Ivoire S.A. in
Abidjan, Cote d'Ivoire. You will be responsible for ensuring compliance of the entire value chain with the requirements of Biofuels-Sustainability Certification (ISCC-EU & INS schemes).
Main responsibilities:
- Define and implement an action plan to achieve certification of biofuel feedstock according to biofuel European Regulation and certification scheme ISCC EU.
- Ensure support to stakeholders to comply with certification criteria and requirements for biofuel feedstock production according to European Certification Schemes.
- Verify certification criteria compliance with producers.
- Organize and manage audits required for certification.
- Ensure traceability of the supply chain according to project and certification requirements.
- Prepare, maintain, and archive certification supporting documents.
- Maintain a product inventory (mass balance) of incoming and outgoing certified products.
- Support training initiatives on sustainability tools at the community level.
- Maintain regular communication with colleagues at Eni S.p.A. (Headquarters in Italy), ENE Cote d'Ivoire's suppliers and buyers, and the certification body.
- Work together with ENE Cote d'Ivoire's logistics and production teams to ensure certified seeds and oil are managed correctly.
- Verify that ENE Cote d'Ivoire's logistic team correctly fills in and archives receipts of payment, weighbridge tickets, transport documents, and Sustainability Declarations.
- General management tasks and any other duty that may be assigned from time to time.
Skills and experience required:
- Degree in Agricultural Sciences, Environmental Engineering, Natural Sciences or relevant qualifications.
- Relevant experience in a similar role or field.
- Prior experience in sustainability certification, quality management systems and/or ISO standards (e.g., INS, Ecocert, GlobalGAP, Fairtrade, Rainforest).
- Experience in agricultural and agroforestry development projects, analysis of existing supply chains and production potential of agricultural biomass for industrial use.
- Experience in large-scale agricultural and agroforestry production systems.
- Knowledge of agricultural and agro-forestry production systems, contract farming mechanisms and agro-industrial initiatives.
- Knowledge of certification processes regarding production traceability, sustainability and calculation of GHG emissions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Stakeholder relations skills, with reference to local communities.
- Proficiency in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Valid driver's license (Class B) and confidence in driving both automatic and manual cars in city traffic and rural areas.
- Fluent in English and French.
