Overview:
The Principal Data Engineer will play a key role in managing and delivering a portfolio of data and analytics related projects that align with business and technology needs to serve Patelco members. This role will bring programmatic rigor and best practices to architect, develop, and deploy complex data and analytical pipelines. A proven leader and subject matter expert in data space in leading conversations across teams to drive for business requirements clarity, build and launch data products. The principal data engineer will support all development efforts including data analysis, data modeling and data design/integration tasks as well as the creation of metrics and attributes to be consumed by interactive dashboards and data that are widely used throughout the organization. The role will be instrumental in the expansion of snowflake lake warehouse data platform to enable critical business decisions.
Responsibilities:
- Partner with development teams, business team members, and the broader analytics teams to enable decision support and key member insights in the product and member well-bring areas; Partner with platform teams, data engineering, and data science teams to develop the tools and processes needed to build next generation AI-driven platforms to improve member experience.

Ensures data collection and data processing is optimized to provide crystal-clear visibility into the impact and value of new initiatives and product releases

Delivers high-performance, scalable, repeatable, and secure deliverables with broad impact (high throughput and low latency).

Writes and organizes code using multiple computer languages, including distributed programming and understand different frameworks and paradigms.

Assists and coaches data engineers with best practices in analysis, data management, building partnerships and project life-cycle management.

Leads or conduct detailed data analytics and recommendations impacting our membership

Develops strategies for warehouse implementation, data acquisition, and archive recovery.

Provides consultation on complex projects and is considered to be a top-level contributor/specialist.

Maintains awareness of industry standards, trends, and best practices in order to strengthen organizational and technical knowledge.

Participate in the establishment of group standards and processes; Participates in the Communities of Practice.

Strong technical expertise in Data engineering, data pipeline development, data processes development using Azure data factory, Snowflake, Tableau and related technologies.

Proven experience working closely with data engineers, data science, and product teams to launch data products.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.

10+ years’ experience in leading data management and analytics process, projects and releases that are enterprise in nature.

This position is based in Dublin, CA.
Target Base Pay:
$132,197- $165,255 / per year
