Overview
Purpose Statement/Position Summary:
The Software Engineer II designs, implements, supports and helps develop CHLA IS applications. They design and implement software solutions for complex technical requirements, participate in architectural discussions and contribute to system design decisions. They mentor junior team members and provide guidance on coding best practices, conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback to improve code quality, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software products on schedule.
Minimum Qualifications/Work Experience:
• Required: 2-4 years of experience in software engineering/development or a similar role.
• High proficiency in Object Oriented Programming. Ability to develop software in Java Script, HTML, C#. Knowledge of relational databases, SQL and ORM technologies.
• Proficiency with system software and hardware. Knowledge of configurations, and protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF). Experience with system monitoring and troubleshooting tools. Familiarity with security practices and protocols.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Excellent communication and collaboration skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Attention to detail and a commitment to continuous improvement.
• Willingness to participate in On-Call rotations and respond to incidents outside of regular business hours.
• Ability to collaborate in teamwork environment with onsite, and offshore engineers.
• Experience in a higher education or campus environment. Experience with disaster recovery planning and implementation. Experience in budget management and cost optimization for network projects.
• Experience in software deployments with CI/CD and release pipelines.
• Experience in GitHub/Git with code commits, branching, security scans, and pull requests.
Education/Licensure/Certification:
• Required: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Will consider excellent experience and other qualifications in lieu of degree.
• Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified Professional Developer.
Pay Scale Information
USD $89,440.00 - USD $160,992.00

Final determination of a successful candidate’s starting pay will vary based on a number of factors, including, but not limited to education and experience within the job or the industry. The pay scale listed for this position is generally for candidates that meet the specified qualifications and requirements listed on this specific job description. Additional pay may be determined for those candidates that exceed these specified qualifications and requirements.
