The BG Service Co., Inc. is an industrial & aerospace products manufacturer seeking a Quality Engineer.
Role Description:
The Quality Engineer will assist with product quality control, company quality system & processes, tool & gage calibration, and quality-related inquiries with customers and suppliers. An ideal candidate will be able to assist with optimizing team productivity through the application of lean manufacturing methodologies.
Responsibilities:
- Read & understand engineering drawings
- Conduct receiving inspection and final inspection on critical parts using a variety of measurement tools and methods.
- Investigate product quality issues that may arise, including customer returns (e.g., non-conforming material reports & corrective action)
- Assist with the maintenance of the company’s internal quality system, and ensure the proper functioning of its processes
- Help maintain the gaging and calibration system
- Gain familiarity with ISO9001 and other quality requirements as they relate to BG’s quality system
- Support inspectors and production personnel with inspection
- Liaise with customers and suppliers to resolve quality issues
- Coordinate with other departments to ensure the smooth functioning of the company’s quality system.
- Reports directly to the company Quality Manager
A successful candidate should have…
- Recently completed a degree in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, or a related field.
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles, six sigma, statistical process control, 5S, poka-yoke, kaizen is a plus
- Motivated to gain expert proficiency with measuring equipment such as:
CMM / Optical Measurement System w/ Touch Probe
Cable / Harness Tester (Low to Medium Voltage Insulation Resistance, Dielectric Withstand, and Continuity Testing
High Voltage Test (Insulation Resistance and Dielectric Withstand)
