Permitting & Code Compliance Engineer

What You'll Do:
- Serve as the go-to engineering resource to streamline and accelerate the permitting process across multiple states and municipalities, primarily on the East Coast.
- Liaise with local building departments, code officials, and dealers to resolve delays, clarify codes, and ensure complete submittals.
- Maintain a permit playbook with evolving regional code requirements and best practices.
- Support dealers with drawings, technical documents, or explanations needed for permit approvals.
- Help standardize technical packages for commonly used systems (e.g., foundation repair, waterproofing products, energy upgrades).
- Provide proactive guidance on design improvements for better compliance and speed.
What You Have:
- A licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in at least one U.S. state, ideally on the East Coast.
- 5+ years of experience with residential construction, permitting processes, or code compliance.
- Strong knowledge of building codes (IRC, IECC, state/local) and permitting structures in multiple states.
- Experience in home improvement, particularly in areas like foundation repair, waterproofing, or retrofit energy systems, is highly desirable.
- Excellent communicator who can work with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Pay: $100,000.00 - $105,000.00 per year
