As a part of Vestas Power Solutions, the Product Solutions & Integration (PS&I) organization is responsible for designing the product architecture and product roadmaps in response to market roadmap requirements, translating product architecture and roadmap into module requirements, and full Value Chain Integration.
Loads & Control (LaC) being part of PS&I, is responsible for designing and optimizing Vestas' products for optimal performance, loads and control strategies together with cross-product design work. The department consists of highly skilled, international, and well experienced engineers located across Portugal, Denmark, and India. As Head of LaC 2/4MW products, you will be overseeing all aspects related to loads and control in the development of Vestas products within the 2-4MW portfolio. You will support a global team with members situated across Denmark, Portugal and India. As a member of a LaC Management team, you will actively contribute to shaping the strategic direction for LaC, reporting directly to the VP of Loads & Control.
Your team's focus is on the configuration of the WTG simulation models and controllers. Collaborating closely with a diverse set of internal and external stakeholders, your team will engage in a wide range of activities - from initial feasibility studies and product development to testing, verification, and certification of new offerings in the market
Responsibilities - Lead, and develop a team of Loads & Control engineers developing, validating, and certifying new product offerings to the market.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure product offerings meet the high-quality standard of Vestas and are aligned with organizational goals.
- Ensure high-quality delivery leading wind industry best practices, on schedule and within budget.
- Act as the primary point of contact with internal and external stakeholders in the context of Loads and Control solutions for products within the 2-4MW portfolio
Qualifications - MSc. or PhD in Aerospace, Wind Energy, Computer Science, or related Engineering fields.
- Proven experience in guiding development teams in an engineering environment.
- Familiar with project management principles e.g. Prince2, and agile methodologies.
- Previous experience with extensive stakeholder management.
- Knowledge about relevant industry standards and regulations is advantageous.
- Previous experience in modelling and control design applied in the context of wind energy aerodynamics, aeroelasticity & structural dynamics is desirable
