Responsibilities
Our Supplier Relations Lead oversees the project management and facilitation of standardizing and executing supplier capital improvements. This initiative aims to enhance working capital, optimize cash flow, and standardize supplier accounts within agreement and vendor management platforms. Collaborating closely with Category Management, Sourcing, Procurement, and Geo-zone teams, this role works to enhance targets, assist with negotiations of extended supplier payment terms, streamline the cash conversion cycle through financial and strategic sourcing analysis, and collaborative alignment to improve sourcing KPI objectives.
Duties & Responsibilities
• Maintains safety and service quality as immediate priorities when working across all areas of the business.
• Maintains the highest standards of corporate governance, ensuring that all activity is conducted ethically and in compliance with Company policies, relevant laws, regulations, standards and industry practices.
• Execute implementation strategy and ongoing management of payment term change options with an overall focus of improving the Cash Cycle, working capital and cash flow within the supplier base globally.
• Ensure alignment between Category management, Sourcing, Contract management and finance of the program improvement and supplier relation communication to optimize payment terms.
• Understand and report highlights of overall financial implications and potential supplier risk with term change.
• Actively review and communicate any supplier risks identified to internal stakeholders.
• Develop project timetables to track milestones, deliverables and dependencies and produce periodic reports to provide status updates internally.
• Ensure communication is aligned within the business and supplier of program improvements and impacts.
• Understand contractual clauses and ensure end-to-end processes/documents are aligned with new business and/or payment terms as per agreed with suppliers.
• Navigate the different product lines and areas of the company to get the required support.
• Proactively identify the need to implement process adjustments; responds to change productively and manages other essential duties as required or assigned tied to supplier relationship management.
• When required, engage with senior client representatives to address client concerns and complaints when linked with poor delivery performance either in terms of schedule or quality of customer service, condition of equipment.
• Update on day-to-day operations with internal stakeholders and external clients/suppliers
• Undertakes necessary training to enhance process excellence and the ability to improve overall performance.
• Provides onboarding and training support, mentoring and development of team members.
• Supports the performance management program and quarterly conversations.
• Good understanding of financial key performance indicators
Qualifications
Experience & Education
• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Finance, and 5+ years of related experience in business process
• Advanced analytical and operational execution management skills
• The ability to work in a team environment and provide leadership.
• The initiative to resolve and advise on Compliance related issues.
• Intermediate/Advanced Excel user and proficient in MS Office suite
• Demonstrable previous experience in Customs and Financial Compliance or related field
Preferred
• Master's degree in business administration (MBA) or master's degree
• 7+ years of experience in Strategic Sourcing, General Sourcing, or similar experience
• Experience in working across various functions, businesses, and regions.
• Certified Purchasing Professional CPP, CIPS, CSPC or CPM
• Advanced Excel user
