Job Title: Data Engineer

Role Description
Responsible for the design, development, and installation of scalable SQL software solutions. The ideal candidate must have strong SQL & ETL experience. A strong aptitude for data analysis and data management is required.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
- Develop efficient and scalable technical solutions based on business requirements
- Document solutions through a variety of ways; flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, charts, and code comments
- Source code version control maintenance
- Analyze existing SQL structures for optimization and automation
- Collaborate with other technology members to design, implement and test for performance, data integrity and scalability
- Responsible for managing and processing incoming and outgoing files (ETL)
- Work to ensure that all project deliverables are on time and high quality
- Adapt to changes in a fast paced and growing environment
- Build scalable data pipelines and integrate new APIs to manage increasing data volume and complexity
- Collaborate with data analytics and business teams to enhance data models for business intelligence tools, improving data accessibility and fostering organization-wide data-driven decision-making
- Implement processes and systems to monitor data quality, ensuring accurate and available production data for stakeholders and critical business processes
- Engage in data analysis to resolve data-related issues
- Create data integrations and establish a framework for data quality
- Collaborate with business units and IT teams to devise long-term data platform architecture strategy
- Automate data movement within the data platform and incorporate monitoring, alerting, and data quality checks for accuracy
- Design and deploy cloud-based data warehousing environments, processing frameworks, and models.
- Implement cloud-based data infrastructure, optimizing for scale and performance.
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience troubleshooting inaccurate data files or data errors
- Setup and manage user security and SQL Agent jobs.
- Experience with EDI X.12 formats
- Technical competency across a variety of programming methods and tools
- Familiar with file transfer protocols (FTP, SFTP, FTPS, SCP, HTTPS…)
- MSSQL database experience using stored procedures, functions, views, scripting methods
- ETL data transformation
- Analytical and detail-oriented with well-developed critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proficient in leveraging Azure cloud platform to develop scalable and cost-effective data solutions
- Advanced level of Python or Java programming experience
- Experience in designing, building, and maintaining data processing systems using modern data platforms
