Job Description The Completion Mechanical Engineering Technician/Technologist is responsible for performing assemblies, tests, collect data and report in all phases of product design and development. The Completion Mechanical Engineering Technician/Technologist prepares product design layouts.
Roles and Responsibilities: - Assembling mechanical and electrical components to build complex systems according to engineering drawings and specifications.
- Set up and conduct routine and non-routine tests.
- Collect, organize, and prepare short reports on data from tests, including analysis and conclusions.
- Work with engineers and technicians on the set up, performance and data reporting for non-routine and complex tests.
- Work with Manufacturing to resolve problems related to product design. May including reviewing redlined production drawings or auditing manufacturing processes.
- Prepare conceptual sketches of new designs or product innovations, as well as detailed part drawings.
- Prepare test and fabrication requests as required in support of various projects.
- Assist in construction or disassembly of laboratory test units or field test prototypes, including processing necessary manufacturing and purchasing paperwork.
- Maintain an engineering notebook of all significant activity.
- Ensure equipment is delivered on time and according to operational demands, and for increasing the utilization and efficiency of assets.
- Perform activities as assigned by the Technology Lifecycle Management (TLM) Mechanical Manager, Mechanical Supervisor or Technician.
- Work under direct supervision of Technicians or Maintenance Supervisors.
- Shop floor activities cover all but not limited to : equipment reception, storage, washing and handling, Technical inspection, assembly preparation, pressure testing and torquing activities, load out and back load of assemblies from ports / rigs.
- Ensure that assigned equipment is maintained according to the Maintenance system, following the tool maintenance programs and standard work instructions.
- Participate in the continuous improvement culture, initiatives and remedial work plans to improve asset utilization and cost of service delivery (CoSD).
- Support continuous improvement efforts to improve the efficiency and productivity of Maintenance Technicians.
Qualifications and Experience: - 3 years relevant Completions experience.
- Knowledge of workshop activities on Safety Valves,Gas Lift, Liner Hangers or Gauges/Spooler preferred - one of the competency areas.
- Strong HSSE skills.
- Fluency in English.
