Position Specific Description
The Engineering & Technical Services Department in the Power Delivery Business Unit is seeking an Engineer I to join their team at the Reliability Assurance Center, Riviera Beach, FL.
To be selected for this role, the candidate should have the following attributes:
• Experience with Cathodic protection, protective coatings, designing for corrosion control, material selection to mitigate corrosion, and corrosion assessments.
• Knowledge designing, testing, and troubleshooting cathodic protection systems for buried tanks and piping; for immersed pumps and screens; and for the interiors of pipes, tanks and vessels containing seawater and freshwater. (AMPP Cathodic Protection Specialist, CP-4, certification desirable)
• Capable of specifying and evaluating protective coatings for structures and components related to electric generation, transmission, and distribution. (AMPP certification desirable)
• Physically capable of lifting tools and equipment up to 75 pounds, working on foot and on uneven surfaces for extended periods, climbing and working from ladders for up to 30 minutes at a time, operate a forklift and man-lift, operate power tools and shop tools, and work with hazardous chemicals safely.
• Bachelor of Science Degree in Corrosion Engineering; Materials Science Engineering or Chemical Engineering.
• PE License highly preferred.
