Job DescriptionMcDonald's, one of the most recognized brands in the world, is seeking a skilled Software Development Engineer to own the transformation and ongoing evolution of our Point of Sale (POS) and Restaurant technology as part of Commercial Product & Platform organization. The Commercial Product & Platform vision develops global technology products and platforms that delight our customers and enable our crews to operate our restaurants reliably and effectively.
The Software Engineer II role reports to the Sr Engineering Manager, Chapter Lead. In this role, you will be responsible for the design, development, testing and maintenance of the McDonald's Restaurant Technology software. Restaurant Technology software includes application user interface, middle and lower layer software, data management, and data communication with external systems. The software needs to meet stringent reliability and performance requirements as well as the needs of our customers.
The biggest area of increase in our spending has been in technology, which is helping to drive our growth. We're looking at how to use technology to improve the customer experience and build new customer experiences. We're also exploring technologies that can help us reduce or eliminate repetitive tasks and make employees' jobs more interesting and rewarding. With all the new projects and initiatives, it is an exciting time to be on the team that is helping to make a Better McDonald's!
Responsibilities:
- As a software development engineer on a team, you will play a pivotal role in crafting the definition, vision, design, road map and development of product features from beginning to end.
- Contribute to all aspects of the agile development life cycle including design, development, documentation, testing and operations.
- Design, implement, test, deploy and maintain innovative software solutions to transform service performance, durability, cost, and security.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior engineers.
- Work in an agile, startup-like development environment, where you are always working on the most meaningful priorities.

The expected salary range for this role is $98,140-$138,625per year

Qualifications- 2+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
- Programming experience with C#.
- 1+ years of experience contributing to the architecture and design (architecture, design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and current systems.
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent years of experience.
- Solid knowledge of Computer Science fundamentals (object-oriented design, data structures and algorithms).
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, self-driven and able to deliver high quality results in a fast-paced environment.
- Proven leadership abilities in an engineering environment in driving operational excellence and best practices.
- Highly quantitative with great judgment and passion for building a phenomenal customer experience.
