The candidate will work together with a multi-disciplinary group to ensure top performance on our wind farms. The ideal candidate has the ability to work a flexible schedule, along with the ability to inspect and resolve problems independently and efficiently. S/he will provide excellent service to our customers, have the ability to work on complex systems in challenging environments, and participate in the development of new field procedures and best practices.

Relocation will not be offered for this role .

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Ability to work a flexible work schedule is a must, along with the ability to inspect and resolve problems unassisted and efficiently.
Ideal candidates will provide excellent service to our customers, have the ability to work in stressful, dangerous situations, and participate in the development of new field procedures and best practices.
Participates in semi-complex equipment installation, trial runs, investigative tests, repairs and overhauls.
Participates in training customers on semi-complex products and services. Performs semi-complex maintenance on tools, test equipment, etc., and maintains documents of all installations, inspections, maintenance and repair work, and failures.
Participates in responding to semi-complex service or systems calls. Participates in the assessment of semi-complex product/equipment performance based on field support data and recommends modifications or improvements.

Required Knowledge/ Skills, Education, and Experience

Driving is an essential function of the job and applicants must have a valid driver's license at the time of application with an acceptable driving record. Employees must maintain a valid license and acceptable driving record and may be subject to periodic DMV checks of their license.
Must have minimum of 6 months training within the iron and metal industry or electrical field.
Physically and mentally able to work suspended from heights and in confined spaces
Flexible travel schedule
High school diploma or equivalent
Must meet body weight restrictions of 260 lbs or less as required by the equipment safety regulations
Must pass a physical administered by a medical practitioner to ensure ability to safely perform the job functions and meet the physical demands of the position
Must have clean driving record and pass pre-hire drug screening
Qualified applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States. Qualified applicants will not require employer sponsored work authorization now or in the future for employment in the United States.

Preferred Knowledge/ Skills, Education, and Experience

Certification from Renewable Energy or Wind Technical Program
Minimum 6 months hands on work experience as a Field Service Technician at a Wind Power site.
