Local * Design & Documentation Engineer, Mechanical Systems
In search of dynamic team player to spearhead our custom mechanical projects at our Middlesex County manufacturing facility. Seeking a skilled Design Engineer to support Engineering and Sales by creating 3D models, updating drawings, and compiling Operations and Maintenance Manuals. Ideal candidates will have experience in bidding and submittals.
Duties:
- Working independently and in tandem with Sales, Mechanical Engineers, Project Managements and Purchasing.
- Create 3D models and fabrication drawings for equipment.
- Assist Sales with equipment and layout drawings for proposals.
- Develop ads and social media content for Sales and Marketing.
- Design systems and components using AutoCAD and Inventor software.
- Document engineering designs and compile technical materials for submittals and O&M manuals.
- Collaborate with engineers to optimize designs for manufacturability and cost.
- Participate in client meetings as needed.
- Project cycle, coordinating all input for bid to the customer, preparing detailed project budget and managing execution of the project to meet contract requirements on time and on budget.
- Help define the project scope, and deliverables.
- Plan, implement, manage budget, schedule, and project timeline.
- Take part in daily meeting, status updates.
- Work cross-functionally to forecast, quote generation, to help manage cost variances.
- Allocate project resources as needed.
- Implement process improvements.
- Establish accountability and scalability.
- Evaluate projects through a grading system and recommend improvements.
Qualifications:
- 3–5 years in manufacturing or project engineering, with machine design experience preferred.
- Proven ability to bring it all together & execute.
- Ability to read, interpret blueprints.
- Proficient in AutoCAD, Inventor, Adobe Suite, and Microsoft Office.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical components, drafting, and manufacturing processes.
- Excellent time management, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Superior communication skills (both written and oral) are required.
- Ability to push and drive for results.
- Excellent interpersonal and customer relationship skills
- Able to work within cross-functional groups.
- Close vision, and color vision ability required
- Safely and effectively lifting, carrying, and moving objects of varying weights
- Bending, stooping, reaching, balancing, standing, and walking for extended periods and maintaining the necessary physical dexterity and coordination
- Working in various environmental conditions, which may include exposure to varying temperatures, and noise levels at times
