Role Description
This is a full-time hybrid or remote role for a Data Engineer with AWS experience. This role will be responsible for data ingestion, normalization, mapping and delivery. You will use AWS Data Pipeline technologies, along with SQL scripts and stored procedures, Python and more to develop our EHR data platform, and unlock insights and connections across our data pipeline.
Required Skills/Qualifications/Experience – 3 years+
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Health Informatics, or Data Science Field
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders, and vice versa
- Experience with the following technologies:
- AWS: Redshift, Sagemaker, Glue, S3
- SQL and Microsoft SQL Server, Python
- Data Orchestration, Observability, logging
- Focus on a portfolio of diseases, and implement code, lab and score mapping, SQL scripts, AWS configuration, tooling
- Quick, pragmatic, simple solutions inside 2 week delivery increments, iterative and feedback-based
- Team player, collaboration with team and broader group, able to find consensus across colleagues and stakeholders, develop productive relationships with colleagues
- Ability to work and align with strategic objectives and general requirements, and break down technical work
- Desire to work with multiple technology implementations and stacks
- Experience with Kanban or Scrum methodologies
- Experience working with healthcare data, familiarity with practical privacy and security methods used within HIPAA for PHI
- Track record of high quality on time delivery, adoption of solutions, initiative and professional curiosity
Desirable
- Prior history working with Electronic Health Record (EHR) data, LOINC mapping, ICD9/10 coding
- Practical NLP, LLM implementations
- Microsoft Azure or Google Cloud experience
- Database architecture, database design
- Located near Boulder, CO
