The focal point for the planning activities within the Angola IMDS operations team, responsible for the development and maintenance of planning processes, procedures, and guidance of junior planners within the department.
Take ownership of the development and maintenance of planning, processes, procedures for all Angolan IMDS projects.
Assist in the competency assessment training and mentoring of all planning / scheduling personnel within Angola IMDS.
Provide the performance management information and reports required for internal and external stakeholders.
Duties & Responsibilities
Functions
ESSENTIAL
• Primary focal point for delivery of all planning and scheduling activities within IMDS.
• Facilitate the development and continuous improvement of the local IMDS planners.
• Provide guidance and support to the project management teams to ensure planning requirements defined in Client contracts are achieved.
• Develop and maintain constructive working relationships with key Client stakeholders.
• Manage the development and maintenance of project programme schedules.
• Provide ad-hoc planning and scenario planning support for the project teams.
• Ensuring clear, timely and accurate information is provided to Project Management Teams (PMT, s) and key internal and external stakeholders.
• Ensure all project resource demand requirements are captured in the planning process and resource gaps are highlighted in a timely manner to the Project Managers.
• Develop, implement, and maintain an effective project planning reporting and governance calendar, ensure collation and presentation of consolidated performance reports and KPI's across the contracts.
• Produce concise, clear project reports covering key metrics and KPI's for Project Management and key stakeholders.
• Develop a detailed understanding of the scope of work described in all the IMDS Contracts.
• Responsibility to ensure that all costs are fully recovered and are accounted for within the project systems.
• Responsible to ensure that all internal planning reporting is undertaken in accordance with the agreed timelines and processes.
• Develop, implement, and maintain the team which can provide effective planning services to the project teams to accomplish the agreed business objectives and adjusting the teams as needs change.
• Support IMDS staff within the planning team in their career development and wider IMDS organisation.
• Ensure that regular audits and assessment of the services are planned, monitored, and reviewed and that any impact to the project is mitigated and, where required, improvements made to the planning process.
• Act as local interface with clients regarding any planning / scheduling queries. Support to current project planners to enable them to improve and communicate better with clients is paramount.
• Ensure that our contractual nationalization commitments are met, and appropriate records maintained.
• Undertake specific project planning activities as instructed by IMDS management.
NON-ESSENTIAL

Supervisory Responsibilities
Directly supervisor of all project planning personnel. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include Nationalization program, interviewing, hiring, and overseeing the training of the employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

• Base qualification in engineering, database systems or equivalent (E)

• Ability to guide team(s) in prioritizing workload effectively (E).

• Lead the nationalization and development program of our Angolan employees (E).

Working Conditions
This position is considered ONSHORE which is characterized as follows:
- This position is considered OFFICE WORK (>90%) is characterized as follows.
- Almost exclusively indoors during the day and occasionally at night.
- Occasional exposure to airborne dust in the workplace.
- Occasional OFFSHORE WORK maybe required (<10%).
- Frequently outdoors in Angola region offshore environment.
- Regular exposure to inclement weather, hot climate, and noise in the workplace.
- Normally on vessels subject to wave motion.
- Transit to offshore facilities by marine transfer boat.
