Position Summary
Dealing with client enquiries, organization and execution of jobs following work instructions. Required to assist Principal NDT Engineers and SIS Technologist Asst. in day-to-day activities.
Preparing equipment, maintenance and QHSE (Oceaneering and Client) documentation.
To further train and qualify in Standard and Non-Standard NDT disciplines.
Duties & Responsibilities
Functions
ESSENTIAL
- Perform fitness for service inspections for all topside fixed equipment and piping utilizing state of the art ultrasonic automated and semi-automated techniques including, but not limited to Phased array, corrosion mapping and Time of flight diffraction (ToFD) techniques.
- Be influential, pro-active, confident, and approachable when attend meetings to present results to the client, either on a one-to-one basis or during an open forum.
- Issue reports in timely manners that are neat, accurate and concise that allows for essential repairs to be carried out.
- Be at the forefront of new technology enabling Oceaneering to introduce innovative techniques to the client.
- Give practical demonstrations and power point presentations to the client.
- Be able to understand company and client procedures and work packs
- Perform as a team leader or work individually.
- Strong organisational skills
- Competence with Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel Projects, and Power Point.
- Have experience with the SIS equipment that allows for fault finding and rectification
- Be an interface with equipment suppliers that enable Oceaneering to be part of a user group to retain and improve equipment reliability.
- Have knowledge of different plant process conditions.
- Have knowledge of defect mechanisms.
- Have knowledge of weld repairs.
- Provide visible, pro-active HS&E leadership. In particular, ensure that incident reporting, task risk assessment and safe methods of work are followed.
- Follows all required safety procedures while carrying out work.
- Attends daily Operations safety meetings.
- Maintain all SIS inspection equipment and ensure calibration is traceable, compliant and within procedure.
- Have knowledge of all SIS inspection equipment within the department, ensuring it is maintained to a high level.
NON-ESSENTIAL
- Assist with any other duties as and when required.
- Undertake specific projects as instructed by management.

Ensure that the Safety policies and procedures are understood and adhered to so far as is reasonably practicable in order to ensure a safe working environment.
Other
Carry out work in accordance with the Company Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality Systems.
Perform the assigned tasks with due diligence regarding the Integrated Management Systems on the Company.
Eliminate waste of whatever form, to suggest the use of more environmentally friendly substances and practices and contribute to the continuous improvement of the environment.
Supervisory Responsibilities
- This position has NO direct supervisory responsibilities. .
Reporting Relationship
- Direct Reporting to Site Supervision
- Indirect reporting to the Project Manager of the site

Qualifications
REQUIRED
- Lev II Ultrasonic Testing / Magnetic Particle Inspection / Dye Penetrant Inspection / TOFD / Phased Array Testing.
- NDT Appreciation / Manual Handling / Company & Offshore Medical / Offshore Survival / Contractors Passport to Safety / Confined Space Training.
- Non-Standard NDT Qualification and Training in various techniques and to hold the appropriate level of certification.
N.B All personnel must hold HND in an associated Engineering discipline
DESIRED
- 10 years' work experience within an Inspection organization. Including oil, gas and power generation environments
- Minimum of 5 years in each NDT Discipline that employee is qualified within
- Proficiency in Word, Excel and Windows based programs
- Confined Space Entry trained
- Working at height trained

Working Conditions
This position is considered SHOP/Outdoors WORK which is characterized as follows.
- Almost exclusively outdoors and can be either day or night shift
- Occasional exposure to airborne dust in the workplace
- Work surface is generally stable (flat), but some working at height may be required
- Exposure to high atmospheric temperatures will be part of the daily operations
- Occasional work in inclement weather conditions may be necessary
