Position Summary
IMDS advisor is responsible for developing a business improvement strategy within the department or business units. To improve the operation support teams understanding of project execution by aligning support services, resources, and system to enhance the customers experiences through an improved service. The role will include, defining employee roles, improvement plans, mentoring and transfer of knowledge. The IMDS advisor will be expected to present regular progress updates to the Senior operations manager and the IMDS management team.
Duties & Responsibilities
Functions
ESSENTIAL
• Determining the scope of business improvement initiatives via consultation and evaluation.
• Developing and overseeing business improvement strategies.
• Recommending cost-effective solutions to operational challenges.
• Restructuring departments and defining employee roles.
• Facilitating training initiatives and promoting best practices.
• Performing cost calculations and coordinating budgets.
• Collaborating across departments to set realistic business targets and timeframes.
• Documenting processes, monitoring progress, and preparing status reports.
• Integrating new technologies and promoting adherence to industry standards.
• Build a strong administration team to support IMDS projects and management.
• Management oversight functions, scenario-based forecasting ensuring risk management.
• Effective and efficient management, logistics, asset management, business continuity, travel, administrative services support.
• Internal and external relations in support of office activities.
• Management and supervision of staff promoting learning, mentoring and knowledge management.
• Uses their knowledge and experiences to develop solutions which are well coordinated and easily implemented.
• Takes appropriate risk in developing new or adapting existing methods and approaches to perform tasks and solve problems more effectively.
• Ensures that all staff are provided with appropriate development opportunities and learning programs to assist them in responding to new professional and organizational trends.
• Encourages and creates mechanisms to share expertise and team approaches between projects as well as with senior managers.
• Applies a broad knowledge of best management practices; defines objectives and workflows, positions reporting relationships in such a way as to obtain optimum effectiveness from the support team.
• Provides change and development advice, including the design and implementation of change strategies/processes to enable staff/the organization to deal with change effectively.
• Drives process definition, simplification, and integration efforts throughout the organization.
• Designs management systems based on established best practice and identified needs within the department or business unit.

Safety

Eliminate waste of whatever form, to suggest the use of more environmentally friendly substances and practices and contribute to the continuous improvement of the environment.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Directly supervises non-supervisory employees in office IMDS Department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include mentoring, coaching, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

REQUIRED
• Bachelor's degree in Commerce or Business with a minimum of 10 years' experience

Fluent in reading and writing English. (E)
Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in a business support/advisor role providing advisory services, managing, coaching, and mentoring staff and operational systems. (E)
Previous experience in oil & gas industry, track record of supporting the management of engineering projects (P)
Minimum 10 years' experience in a project environment (E)
Previous experience in oil & gas industry, track record of supporting the management of engineering / inspection projects (E)
Must be familiar with QA/QC systems and procedures, service quality and customer satisfaction (E)
Previous experience in financial control and budgets (E)
Previous experience of coaching and mentoring. (E)
Working knowledge of Microsoft office suits. (E)
