Specialist | Full-Time | Engineering Power Solutions & Vestas Quality > VPS Region APAC > Technical Management OffshoreThe Technical Sales Management department is the regional arm of our global Technical Sales Organisation, which links our Business Unit and our customer needs towards the central Power Solutions Team, responsible for the global Product Development in Vestas. The Offshore Technical Project Specialist role within Technical Sales Management is a highly diversified role that requires solid technical skills as well as a solid commercial mindset. You will collaborate with our Customer Project Execution organization, our customers as well as central engineering functions. This role requires good communication and interfacing skills to propel growth in the wider Asia-Pacific region by ensuring the best possible technical solution for our customers.
Responsibilities Your main responsibilities as an Offshore Technical Project Specialist within the Technical Sales Management team will be to represent the technical solution and provide support towards the offshore construction team during the execution phase of our offshore projects.
Responsibilities include:
- Responsible for the wind turbine technical solution
- Respond to queries related to wind turbine product during project execution phases
- Collaborate with cross functional members and integrate the best solution to customers
- Review wind turbine configuration change requests against contracted configuration
- Deliver the technical solution towards customers during project execution phase
- Work closely with key stakeholders during project execution including project management, internal engineering resources and on-site team for installation and commissioning
- Communicate with various stake holders such as customer engineers, BOP contractors, Utility engineers & certification bodies across engineering aspects.
Qualifications - Engineering background (Electrical or Mechanical experience preferred, alternatively Civil, Industrial or similar) combined with commercial insight/interest.
- Prior experience working in construction of technical equipment, ideally of heavy machinery, power plant equipment or similar, is necessary
- Fluent in English both spoken and written is essential, Chinese, Korean or Japanese language is highly desirable
- Ability to work collaboratively with other technical bid management colleagues, internal and external stakeholders to ensure that projects milestones are met
- Holistic understanding of commercial and legal aspects of technical solutions.
- Previous experience in wind energy or industrial plant environment is desirable
Competencies - Solid communication skills and prior experience interacting with a variety of technical and commercial stakeholders
- Organised and collaborative with proven experience working in innovative and high-stress tendering environments
- Results-oriented, with the ability to be innovative and creative in building a technical value proposition and seeking out value optimisation opportunities
- High level of customer focus, with a holistic understanding of how technical solutions impact a business case commercially and contractually
- Professional presentation skills with ability to present to senior management
