The Quality and Tools sub-module in Converter & Electrical Module is part of ACE organization in Vestas Power Solutions (Vestas R&D). Vestas Power Solutions is a business unit where new product ideas are developed, matured, improved, maintained, and tested. Vestas Power Solutions operates on a global scale with more than 2,800 employees.
Quality is anchored throughout Vestas, along the value chain. The Converter & Electrical quality sub-module is responsible for ensuring design quality, reliability and continuous improvement projects
Rooted in the Systems Engineering discipline, use of Failure Mode Effects Analysis is integral to our design in all phases. The role as DFMEA functional lead functions locally in the C&E module to assure best practice applied to all designs.
Responsibilities - Oversee and facilitate that DFMEA is established and deployed on all design projects covering the wind turbine components pertaining to the C&E Module
- Guide and coach design colleagues in establishing function & failure trees, subsequently leading to DFMEAs using tools as APiS
- Generate CTQs by means of DFMEA and be informed the stakeholders such as designers, manufacturers/suppliers and other relevant value chain stakeholders
- Guide and assure DFMEAs are linked vertically through the product hierarchy (component - module - wind turbine)
- Assist design colleagues in their interaction with suppliers on procured component DFMEAs
- Liaise with Supplier Quality Development and Service organizations for shared DFMEAs
- Facilitate process for root cause analysis when needed
Qualifications - Bachelor / Master's in Electrical / Electronic / Power Electronics / Power system / Similar specialization
- 9+ years of experience from Electrical Design and Development , With high level understanding of Electrical components such as power electronic converter components, transformers, switchgears, high voltage cables, capacitors, power semiconductors, magnetics and electronics
- Capable of defining the vision within the field of Design quality/DFMEA/CLQ
- Certified in Six Sigma Green / Black belt
- Good communication skill in English orally and written
- Good leadership and communication skills and capable of acting as a motivator
- Capable of delivering short term results without losing the long term vision
- Specific experience with failure modes and design for reliability of electrical / electronic components

- Formulation of tasks and delegation to colleagues and consultants/contractors
- Review and assure quality in colleagues' work
- You will be coaching and guiding colleagues as well as deliver own contribution to projects
- Working knowledge with Python, R, MATLAB programming and SQL scripting
