Duties & Responsibilities
Purpose
To carryout Risk, Reliability and Maintenance Engineering activities in accordance with governing documents, quality and norms of both client and company. Develop Asset Hierarchy, criticality data, safety & reliability strategies, plans and programs for onshore and offshore oil and gas installations and manage activities in Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)/APM Software.
Functions
ESSENTIAL
• Lead a multidisciplinary team of engineers in executing projects across diverse domains, encompassing Risk & Safety, Environmental concerns, and SIL (Safety Integrity Level).
• Manage and conduct comprehensive system safety assessments for the Oil & Gas/Energy industry, including FHA (Functional Hazard Analysis), CCA (Common Cause Analysis), and FTA (Fault-Tree Analysis).
• Drive and document various Process Hazard Analysis activities such as HAZOP & HAZID safety reviews, Quantified Risk Assessment, Consequence Analysis, LOPA (Layer of Protection Analysis), ALARP (As Low as Reasonably Practicable), COMAH (Control of Major Accident Hazards), and hazard evaluations for all project phases.
• Provide oversight for the Management of Change (MOC) process at the site.
• Conduct system reliability assessments, including FMEA (Failure Modes and Effects Analysis).
• Develop and review of performance standards, ensuring alignment with maintenance data.
• Develop and review of SCE category as per O&G industries
• Facilitate process hazard workshops to identify and mitigate potential hazards.
• Demonstrate a deep understanding and extensive experience integrating hazard analysis and safety evaluation processes with system engineering.
• Define reliability requirements for systems, subsystems, components, and assemblies, and conduct common cause analyses such as particular risk analyses and common mode analyses.
• Implement effective process safety processes and procedures, offering interpretation, technical support, and advice on process safety matters to operations and maintenance teams.
• Contribute to the development of operation and maintenance strategies to ensure Safety/Reliability requirements are met, and deliver supporting information such as Safety Case Reports, Hazard Analysis, Functional Failure Analysis, FMECA (Failure Modes, Effects, and Criticality Analysis), and reliability predictions.
• Support the Line Manager in managing Oceaneering contracts, providing assurance on technical delivery and cost management.

Qualifications
REQUIRED
• University Degree in Electrical/ Mechanical/Instrumentation / Process Engineering
• Professional experience in functional safety and reliability analysis.
• Ability to link theoretical analysis results to practical design decisions.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics
• Minimum (12-14) years of relevant experience in relation to the job description.
• Prepare system safety documentation, reports on safety & reliability program for customers.
• Performs analyses for safety, reliability, regulatory, certification, product assurance and other specialties quality factors into a preferred configuration to ensure project success.
• Experienced and knowledge on Safety Assessments including Fire and Explosion Analysis, Hazardous area classification, Safety Management Systems Safety critical system identification and performance standard review/development, Safety Cases, COMAH compliance with upstream, downstream and LNG experience.
• At least 8 years of hands-on experience in reliability & safety with operating companies within Oil & Gas, Petrochemicals, Refinery, Power Industries.
• Track record as an effective teammate with strong interpersonal and influencing skills and the ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary / multi-national team
• Discovers new opportunities and solutions for problems by looking beyond current practices and using innovative thinking. Tries different and novel ways to deal with work problems and opportunities.
• Effective communication skill and stakeholder management is a necessary skill for the job.
Working Conditions
This position is considered OFFICE WORK which is characterized as follows.
• Almost exclusively indoors during the day and occasionally at night
• Occasional exposure to airborne dust in the workplace
• Work surface is stable (flat)
