The Materials Supervisor is responsible to oversee movements of M&S and FI items within assigned areas. They ensure the warehouse functions according to company standards, applying good housekeeping practices with a strong focus on safety and efficiency, ensuring goods are received, stored, and issued in compliance with SLB procedures. They account for stock accuracy, both physically, and as recorded in the Warehouse Management System. The Materials Supervisor manages storekeepers and Materials specialists and is responsible for the handling and movements of equipment, products, and other items within the area/location they are responsible for.
Job Responsibilities - Lead, direct, train and manage a team (Storekeepers & Materials Specialists)
- Involved in the recruiting, hiring, and appraising of their team members.
- Participate in periodic physical counting program to satisfy Sarbanes Oxley and internal control requirements.
- Ensure compliance with established procedures and Company Standards to maintain effective control over the physical product flow and storage for the warehouse and other inventory areas.
- Ensure high levels of housekeeping are maintained.
- Responsible for the periodical replenishment of MNS Stock, in alignment with each Product Line Demand Planning strategy, and in
- cooperation with the Product Line Distribution Specialist and the respective Area Planner
- Accountable for Purchase Order Closure until reception in the Warehouse Management system (monitor Open PO and goods invoiced not received reports)
- Supports the identification of intercompany redistribution opportunities and the translation of the opportunities into actual transfers, ensuring quality controls are conducted and compliant with the Product Lines quality standards.
- Aim for continuous improvement and promotes the use of LEAN tools such as 5S exercise to improve WH efficiency and reduce costs.
- Implement, as applicable, advanced techniques (example: Alternative storage solutions, point of use such as kitting, Kanban, etc.) to improve local Materials Management efficiency.
- Conducts periodical self-assessments and audits as dictated by SLB Global Processes.
- Support the identification of intercompany redistribution opportunities and the translation of the opportunities into actual transfers, ensuring quality controls are executed and compliant with the company procedures.
- Perform periodic reviews of exception reports to maintain data integrity in the Warehouse Management System, including, but not limited to, discrepancies between systems, unit price, aged open/failed/pending for approval/unmatched transactions, and inactive parts.
- Perform Cycle Count and Periodical Physical Counts: Plan Creation/Posting of Adjustments/Root Cause and reporting according to the global procedure.
- Evaluate the feasibility of vendor-managed model implementation and manage the process in cooperation with the sourcing and procurement organization.
- Maintain relevant configuration parameters specific to assigned warehouses in the Warehouse Management System, within the boundaries of security profile/role.
- Prepare and provide monthly reports as required by management.
- Update and communicate KPIs and best practices to the team and key Division parties.
- Materials Supervisors report into the Materials Manager, though Materials Supervisors at DSC level may report into the DSC organization as applicable.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Job Qualifications - High school diploma, HiSET or GED
- 2-3 supervisory experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment
- MRP / SAP Experience
- Preferred - LEAN Six Sigma
