Summary:
The Stress Engineer will be responsible for executing pipe stress analysis utilizing Hexagon CAESAR II for a variety of energy, oil, and gas applications. Typical stress analysis projects will be in support of CEPCs design engineering operations. Candidates should have a robust understanding of pipe stress, typical piping design practices, and applicable industry codes and standards related to the design and analysis of pressure piping systems.
Job Description:
Responsibilities:
- Conducting pipe stress analysis for projects across the CEPC portfolio.
- Provide feedback to internal engineering teams including suitability of designs, support loadings, and nozzle loadings.
- Review stress analysis results, technical drawings, specifications, and calculations to ensure compliance with industry standards, codes, and customer requirements.
- Provide technical guidance and support to resolve complex engineering challenges and optimize pipe system designs for efficiency and reliability.
- Support in-service stress evaluations for Fitness-For-Service, change of service, or other analysis as needed.
Stakeholder Collaboration:
- Participate in client meetings, presentations, and negotiations to address technical inquiries, scope changes, and project updates.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate substation designs with overall infrastructure plans and operational strategies.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in stress analysis, with a focus on pipe stress analysis.
- Robust knowledge of industry and government codes and standards including ASME B31.1, B31.3, B31.4, B31.8, B31.12, CFR 49 Part 192, CFR 49 Part 193, CFR 49 Part 195, ASCE 7
- Extensive experience troubleshooting existing systems, common industry issues, to solve technical problems independently.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
