Job Description:
The Senior Probe Card Applications Engineer (AE) will provide technical support and service directly to customers with new probe card installations. They will also assist with troubleshooting and debugging issues in the field to ensure that customers are able to successfully test semiconductor wafers. They will need to be able to effectively communicate feedback from the customers to the manufacturing and engineering teams to implement product improvements as necessary. The AE is the technical liaison between the external customer and the company. The AE will also assist with troubleshooting and debugging new card development issues at Translarity sites.
Responsibilities (job duties)
· Technical Support and Service for product installations
· Must travel to customer locations as needed.
· Work under a microscope to review and rework components
· Debug product issues with manufacturing team
· Diagnose and troubleshoot both mechanical and electrical issues down to the component level
· Provide technical feedback from manufacturing to engineering teams
· Make product suggestions based on customer needs and requirements
· Clearly communicate to internal and external customers
· Make suggestions for process improvements
· Troubleshoot issues to determine root cause and make recommendations
· Always represent the company in a professional manner
Qualifications (education, skills, abilities)
· Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics or equivalent work experience
· 5+ years of experience in a similar role at major probe card manufacturer
· Read and interpret electronic schematics
· Excellent hand-eye coordination under a microscope
· Ability to perform comprehensive root cause analysis
· Working knowledge of probers and testers in the ATE industry
· Working knowledge of metrology tooling
· Proficient with MSOffice products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
· Ability to think clearly while working in high stress environments with demanding deadlines
· Ability to work in class 10 cleanroom environment
· Ability to lift 50lbs
