JOB DESCRIPTION
The role of the Senior Endpoint Engineer IV is to lead, strategize, design, build and implement endpoint configurations including Windows and Macintosh OS, as well as Mobile Application Management for users and applications across both the virtual and physical desktop environments. This position also leads teams responsible for the strategy, design, build and maintenance of desktops including software and all aspects of users roles and groups as well as asset management. The Endpoint Engineer works closely with leaders from Security Operations, Asset Management, Infrastructure and Service Desk areas to strategize and design how best to manage enterprise endpoint assets for the entire lifecycle of that asset. Enabling efficient onboarding and offboarding as well as provisioning end-users with proper devices, applications and privileges is crucial to the role. This position can also act as a team leader to other members of the team to help manage devices and software assets for the organization. The person in this position is responsible to ensure the strategies and processes are to ensure that all desktops OS configurations, mobile devices, and applications are maintained and delivered properly across the entirety of the organization. This person will also plan, prioritize, and lead staff in technical responsibilities, projects and timelines and job performance including hiring, terminations, reviews, and salary adjustments
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
• Design innovative endpoint related tooling, processes, and solutions with an emphasis on automation, scalability, and security.
• Lead and mentor a team of engineers, fostering collaboration, innovation, and continuous development.
• Exceptional experience with Windows and Mac operating systems administration, configurations, security, and compliance management
• Exceptional understanding of the Windows Desktop OS architecture, packaging, scripting, and automated deployment tools (SCCM, MDT, PowerShell), MS Office Suite, Active Directory, GPO, Citrix and BitLocker administration.
• Develop and deliver status reports and maintains accurate and up-to-date Project plans
• Exhibited and proven experience with PowerShell for large-scale enterprise change management (Python or other similar DevOps languages acceptable)
• Experience with Active Directory and Domain Management and Group Policy Management
• Experienced with automation and packaging of Windows Desktop OS and platform applications, as well as with the macOS and related automation platforms utilizing Intune.
• Exceptional technical problem solving and root cause analysis skills.
• Experience integrating peripherals with Mac and Windows OS
• Collaborate cross-functionally with other IT teams to enhance our overall device management methods, security and capabilities.
• Apply critical thinking to help our team assist our business partners by achieving their planned business objectives
• Exposure to Windows Autopatch, WSUS, SCCM/MECM, and/or 3rd party tools for updates and patch management
• Experience with Azure Update Manager (Patch Management) is considered a strong plus
• Ability to continually learn new skills and technologies, and work with little to no supervision.
• Ability to plan and assign work to other team members.
• Experienced project manager with the ability to envision, plan and manage large change-management activities involving end-user endpoint and mobile technologies.
• Exceptional understanding of endpoint security fundamentals and OS hardening.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience with endpoint engineering concepts such as registry editing and command-line utilities.
• Comfortable with security tools such as EDR/XDR, firewall, and inventory management applications
• Track record of successful planning, analysis, implementation and testing of complex operating system software upgrades or new releases and assesses any impact to other software products being utilized.
Experience
• Overall 12+ years in IT experience demonstrating broad understanding of multiple technologies at the enterprise level as well as deep knowledge in areas related to this position.
• 4-5 years expertise with MS Intune strategic design, configuration, deployment, and ongoing support for corporate managed and Bring-your-own-device (BYOD) deployments.
• 5+ years' experience with Microsoft Entra Active Directory and Microsoft O365 Administrative functions including device management, user management and group management
• 3-4 years' experience using Windows Update inside Intune for patching including Microsoft patching, 3rd party software maintenance and driver maintenance
• 3-5 years' experience using Windows Update inside Intune for patching including Microsoft patching, 3rd party software maintenance and driver maintenance.
• Highly experienced with creating a program to manage software distribution models using roles and groups and also creating software packages via various methods, including packaging for physical and virtual desktops (VDI) for automated unattended deployments.
• In depth knowledge and experience with server and desktop operating systems such as Windows Server 2019 and 2022, Windows 10/11 and MacOS 14/15 (Sonoma/Sequia)
Education
Bachelor's degree in computer science or a closely related discipline

COMPENSATION
The approximate compensation range for this position is $119,000 to $166,000. This compensation range is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Actual compensation is dependent upon factors such as education, qualifications, experience, skillset, and physical work location.
