Senior Contract Engineer within
Eni Iraq B.V. in
Basra,
Iraq. You will be managing all aspects of the procurement process for contracts for goods, works and services with minimum direction and supervision, meeting delivery, cost, quantity and quality requirements and in accordance with company policies and procedures.
Your employment contract will be managed by Eni International Resources Ltd (EIRL).

Main responsibilities:
- Prepare and compile contractual and commercial sections of tender exercises.
- Develop and analyse contract documentation, ensuring compliance with laws and company policies.
- Perform counterparty risk assessments and conduct evaluations and negotiations of tenders.
- Challenge purchase requisition requirements, propose solutions, and contribute to tender lists and strategies.
- Prepare evaluation models for high complexity contracts and propose contracting solutions.
- Improve operations, streamline work processes, and provide high-quality customer service.
- Train junior personnel in contracting processes and ensure confidentiality throughout procurement.
- Manage all contracting phases in coordination with Contract Holders and other functions.
- Ensure proper data entry into GPS system and manage activities in compliance with the Company's Code of Ethics.
Skills and experience required:
- Educated to degree level, preferably in Engineering or Economics. CIPS qualification desirable.
- Significant experience in the Oil and Gas industry and the relevant area of expertise. Work experience in the Middle East region desirable.
- Knowledgeable in international contractual formats and complex corporate and project governance.
- Understanding of commodity markets, price trends, various grades, qualities, and varieties of materials, supplies, and equipment.
- High fluency in written and spoken English, particularly for contract terminology.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to understand what is negotiable in line with company targets.
- High professional standards and personal integrity.
- Ability to work effectively with people from diverse cultures and backgrounds.
- Ability to work under pressure and with minimal supervision.
