30452 - LABORATORY SUPERVISOR
At Eni, we are looking for a Laboratory Supervisor within Eni Congo S.A. You will be responsible for building and managing the laboratory team for Floaters 1 FLNG, liaising with the Commissioning team during EPCIC phase, then leading the laboratory team activities for the Operations phase, including all laboratory infrastructure and procedures. You will also be involved in the selection of suitable laboratory (contractor) staff and will supervise their technical and safety training.
Location and Work Pattern:
CHINA: From January 2025 to September 2025 (9 months): TOWN BASED (Qidong,) RESIDENTIAL.
CONGO: From October 2025/duration 24/36 months. OFFSHORE 28/28 (Marine XII LNG), ROTATIONAL.
As a member of the Production Department, you will be responsible for:
During EPCIC / Project Phase
- Assisting in the establishment of the laboratory, to ensure readiness for start-up and normal operation.
- Participating in the selection of laboratory (contractor) staff and ensuring their competence and suitability for their role.
- Reviewing and commenting on the technical and supply specifications of LaboraRetory equipment.
- Supporting EPCIC contractor as a part of the integrated commissioning team to set-up the laboratory including FAT, SAT and other operational tests.
- Supervising and monitoring the scope related to Laboratory readiness as per the OR&A plan.
During OPERATIONS Phase
- Coordinating the activities of the Laboratory to provide analytical services to support production requirements in a safe and cost-effective manner, maintaining expected quality standards.
- Advising the Production Superintendent on the quality of products, feed gas, refrigerants, different process streams, flue gases and specifications on environmental disposal.
- Approving all Laboratory procedures and reviewing any new methodology and techniques that might be required.
- Cooperating and ensuring full support to the appointed Independent Surveyor, during any offloading operation.
- Issuing the quality certificate for all LNG/Liquid Condensate exporting cargoes.
- Establishing and maintaining an HSE culture within the Laboratory as per Company procedures, manuals and standards.
- Managing and monitoring the quality of environment disposal during Operations Phase, i.e. emission, flue gases, wastewater.
- Ensuring continuous sampling/monitoring of the quality of natural gas feedstock and LNG / liquid products, to alert operation team personnel for any "off-spec" conditions.
- Approving and accepting quality, specification and conformity of all imported chemicals and refrigerant to FLNG premises.
- Supporting Production and Maintenance team in case of investigation, root cause analysis and troubleshooting.
- Preparing and allocating Laboratory budget to cope with equipment's maintenance, devices calibration, spare parts replenishment, consumable chemicals.
- Planning for Laboratory hazardous waste disposal management.
This is the opportunity for you if you have these skills and requirements:
- Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry.
- Extensive experience in the oil and gas industry, preferably LNG operating experience.
- Significant experience in a supervisory/senior position.
- BOSIET certificate and HUET.
- Experience of handling LNG and/or other cryogenic fluids and of gas operations.
- Strong knowledge of testing methodology and practices for hydrocarbon fluids especially, Gas Chromatograph and spectrophotometers for LNG plant experience.
- Experience in specifying, standardizing and selecting laboratory equipment and chemicals.
- Managerial Laboratory experience.
- Root cause analysis of any related laboratory problems and find solution for trouble shooting.
- Proficient knowledge of English language. Intermediate knowledge of French language desired.
