Duties & Responsibilities Purpose The Assembly Technician will be responsible for assembling the AGVs and other possible infrastructural parts as needed in the project, both mechanical and electrical. He / She will be responsible for an efficient build of the engineered designs and will ensure all is produced and tested in accordance with the Oceaneering standards following our quality and safety guidelines. In case issues arise during the assembly process, the Assembly Technician must be willing to own the challenge and work towards a solution together with the other stakeholders. The work will be finished by testing the products before they are handed over to the software department for commissioning. During the commissioning phase the assembly technician will be supporting his/her software peers in getting the total system in an optimal state of operation.
The production of the AGV's can vary in production scenarios from single build (prototype) products, final build products, small production batches to making ready for series production at 3 rd parties. To achieve this, the Assembly Technician works closely with the project teams, Engineering departments and Quality teams thus ensuring getting the best possible result.
Functions ESSENTIAL - Be independently responsible for the execution of the required assembly activities of AGV's as assigned in projects.
- Managing assembly activities at supplier sites by focusing on planning, progress and quality.
- Apply established standards, processes and procedures to ensure workplace safety and quality.
- Autonomously capture modifications and other changes during the production process and to communicate those to the Engineering department, Quality teams and other stakeholders.
- Able to work under demanding conditions in order to meet the deadlines while maintaining a professional demeanor and be respectful to others.
- Come forward with creative, effective and innovative solutions when challenges occur and execute them.
- Represent our company while interacting with suppliers, customers, managers, other technicians, as well as associates from other departments.
- Work in a team-oriented environment.
- Coach or give technical guidance to less experienced colleagues.
- Willing to work were needed on an assortment of different assignments, both inhouse as well on other production sites (internationally).
NON-ESSENTIAL - Ensure that the Safety and Quality policies and procedures are understood and adhered to so far as is reasonably practicable in order to ensure a safe working environment and qualitative delivery of products.
- Perform the assigned tasks with due diligence regarding the Integrated Management Systems on the Company.
- Eliminate waste of whatever form, to suggest the use of more environmentally friendly substances and practices and contribute to the continuous improvement of the environment.
Supervisory Responsibilities - This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
- Occasionally leading a team made up of contractors or overseeing production operations at supplier sites
Reporting Relationship - You will report directly to the Assembly Manager.
Qualifications REQUIRED - MBO-4 or HBO in mechatronics or similar proven career experience within the area.
- A minimum of 5-7 years of all-round experience as an assembly technician or similar, preferably in assembling mechatronic systems.
- Excellent communicational skills. Excellent written and oral communications in Dutch and English are essential.
- Able to interact in a professional and constructive way with customers, managers, other technicians, as well as associates from other departments.
- Understands mechanical and electrical fundamentals and can interpret and update mechanical and electrical drawings and work instructions
- Willingness to work according to provided procedures.
DESIRED - Having experience in managing projects is considered a great advantage.
- Having a VCA diploma and a forklift certificate are an advantage.
